The same

Post by franklin »

Hello all,

I have 2 servers (Debian Linux) in a nearby datacentre.
They are on different ip addresses.
When I look at the graphs in cacti they are exactly the same.
Also the amount of disk space, ping latency, networktraffic, etc.
Does someone know why this is?

Thanks.

yes, all the same for both servers, all values are the same and they differ in hardware (hard disks etc.)

Which Host Template is associated to either of them?

I use "remote linux server" wich I copied from "local linux machine".
So they use the same template.

I have the same issue. How do we monitor another liux/unix server without using the local linux server template?

Or to put it another way. What are the specific OIDs for monitoring a linux/unix server

memory, processes, disp-space etc?

Bad, bad. I always recommend not using the "Local Linux Host" host template. It will only monitor the local host!
Please use ucd/net-snmp host template instead. It provides most wanted graphs by default
