Graph Trees Auto delete when adding to tree???

we have Cacti Version 0.8.6j and fully patched.

Adding new sub-headers and graphs to one of our trees has now wiped everything that was already in the tree – the graphs and data are fine, but you cannot see them when you click on the tree.

We went to Console/Management/Graph Trees, clicked add and the items previously there have now vanished?

Wierdly if you click add, the drop down list for Parent Item show the trees, however this cannot be seen when you click, Graph Trees --> LES
