Total Bandwidth weirdness [Cacti 0.8.6i/j]

Post by Celingest »

Hi,

I'm trying to find out why this happens to me, but I'm out of ideas that's why I'm asking for your help.

I use "In/Out Bits with Total Bandwitdh" graphs for several hosts, but I noticed that only the standard timeframes "Last Day", "Last Week", "Last Month", "Last Year" and the custom "Last 2 Days" work properly. The rest are giving me strange Total Bandwidth values.

This is the "Last Day" Graph:

All fine, but now the "Last 3 Days":

And the "Last 2 Weeks":

Finally, "Last 2 Months":

I'm currently using the Debian stock Cacti 0.8.6i, but I've tried the same data files with 0.8.6j and the problem is still there.

Any idea why that's happening?

Ok, you are not the first person to report this issue.

I'm perplexed by this issue and need your help to help me figure out what is going on.

Please email me, I would like to request some information about your Cacti installation.

Noticed this a few times too. Pity it does not work...

Noticed that on my 2003 box it works fine but at the one at work on RHE4 it does funny things. Long live Windows I guess.

It isn't just down to rrdtool's aggregation?
Weathermap 0.98a is out! & QuickTree 1.0. Superlinks is over there now (and built-in to Cacti 1.x).
Some Other Cacti tweaks, including strip-graphs, icons and snmp/netflow stuff.
(Let me know if you have UK DevOps or Network Ops opportunities, too!)

This shows it better.

First graph shows if you look at the default weekly graph and the second one is if you set the preset to last week.

As you see the total in and out values are not the same.

Took a copy of my linux cacti and upgrade it to Cacti 0.8.7 Beta 4 and still has the same issue.

Also turned off all my plugins and get the same result.

I removed linux and put windows on and copied the db and cacti directory and then removed the RRD's and problem solved.
