32 Bit Counters with Volume bigger than 2 TB

Post by Laffer »

I have negative Values on some OID's

hsnm006:/srv/www/htdocs/cacti/log # snmpget -v1 -c public -m ALL hsfs000 .1.3.6.1.4.1.789.1.5.4.1.3.11
NETWORK-APPLIANCE-MIB::dfKBytesTotal.11 = INTEGER: -1803631392

It seems that the counter is exceeding the signed integer size (more than 2 TB). How can I change the value in a positive value?

If that value truly is larger than its signed 32bit int, then the value it is spitting out won't be correct at all. Are you sure that OID value is a signed 32bit int?

As for making a negative positive, there is already a CDEF in cacti to switch that in the graph template.
