My graphs are generating from recently.

Post by smartech1 »

Hi all,

I am running Cacti below version since 4 months and couldn't work on it further and had left as it was. Recently i found disk was full due to traps and graph database. So i cleared all logs and all.

Cacti Version 0.8.6i
Plugin Architecture 1.1
Poller Type Cactid v0.8.6i
Server Info Linux 2.6.9-22.EL
Web Server Apache/2.0.52 (Red Hat)
PHP Version 4.3.9
PHP Extensions yp, xml, wddx, tokenizer, sysvshm, sysvsem, standard, sockets, shmop, session, pspell, posix, pcre, overload, mime_magic, iconv, gmp, gettext, ftp, exif, dio, dbx, dba, curl, ctype, calendar, bz2, bcmath, zlib, openssl, apache2handler, gd, ldap, mysql
MySQL Version 4.1.12
RRDTool Version 1.2.19
SNMP Version 5.4
Plugins Device Monitoring (monitor - v0.7)
PHP Network Weathermap (weathermap - v0.9)
Thresholds (thold - v0.3.2)
Update Checker (update - v0.3)
Host Info (hostinfo - v0.1)

Now if i create any new graphs it, its not generating. It says "nan" on graph. I have attached the snapshot for reference.

Could anybody of you let me know basic diagnostic things and respective commands to be tested before working on any change in configuration.

Thanks and Regards,
S.Toufeeq

you can try what Gandalf told me to try:

login in as cactiuser

and run the following command in the shell:

php poller.php

paste what it returns back.

Hi Sir,

Actually i had forgot the password for my "cactiuser" .So i changed it to new and then logged in and ran following command. Please find the below info found on screen. It says
" Can't open perl script "/usr/local/bin/ping_latency.pl": No such file or directory." , but i don't thnk its related to my "Not generation of Graph" problem concerned.

Wonder is my previously configured graphs are still running cool.but none of newly generated.!!!!!

Please suggest me further, what to check and test.

Thanks and Regards.

What do i do before upgradation

Post by smartech1 »

Hi Gandalf,

It seems upgrading my 0.8.6i version to 0.8.6j would resolve my issue of 'nan' on the newly generated graphs, while my previous graphs still run cool !!!!!.

Please let me know what cautions i have to take before upgradation. Will my existing graphs runs as it is after the upgradation??

How do i take my backup and restore and what and all i have to?

Kindly help me out. It will be great support.

Thanks and Regards,

No special action have to be taken. Graphs surely will work afterwards.
How do i take my backup and restore and what and all i have to?
I recommend a daily mysqldump of the database along with a complete backup of the cacti directory and all subdirectories. From this, you will be able to recover at any time.
