Cacti with SonicWALL

Post by crsang »

Not having any luck getting SNMP data from a SonicWALL. (Model: TZ 170 Wireless Enhanced)

I enabled SNMP on the SonicWALL and entered in the information and saved the configuration. I do a snmpwalk to the ip of the SonicWALL and I pauses for about 5 secs and displays: Timeout: No Response from <ip of SonicWALL>. Both devices are on the LAN and I nmap'd udp 161 and 162 and it says open|filtered. I can ssh into and ping the firewall. :\

Every device I have on the network seems to be working fine (10 devices)

What am I missing? Please help!!!

Thanks in advance!

This is an issue with your target, for sure. As long as it doesn't respond to your snmpwalk, it will not report anything within cacti

i agree...

P.S.A. Dont get a SonicWall firewall!

I actaully think it is responding to snmpwalk. The only thing I did between the first post and this one was eat a few tacos!

Solved!

You should definitely make a business out of those tacos!
