RRDTool Access is denied problem, graphs are not displayed

I'm new to CACTI for Windows but finally got it configured and ready to display some graphs. None of my graphs are displayed, all I got is broken image with the red "X" even though files in cacti\rra directory are updated normally.

I spent several hours looking for a solution and tried to run the graph debug as well as using sysInternals filemon to troubleshoot the problem.

The graph debug gave this error
Access is denied.

Filemon traces did show one line that has Access denied problem associated with RRDTool to one of the .rrd files, there are many other lines with SUCCESS and OVERFLOW status from RRDTool.exe updating to the same rra directory. I granted the user name all the rights to cacti, cacti\rra and cacti\log but problem still persists.

Any suggestion on how to get around this RRDTool Access denied issue will be greatly appreciated.

Already went through the link you have suggested, no luck. I granted permissions on all relevant directories and the problem still persists.

You must force the permissions to inherit down -- those files you patched to not have the correct ntfs permissions.

I double-checked the permissions and confirmed that all files the .rrd files under cacti\rra have full access for IUSR_computer and the account starts the 5-minute schedule tasks.

Don't limit filemon to certain processes. Save the filemon log and post as an attachment for ONLY a graphing attempt.

I got graph displayed based on the your hint that I should not use filter in filemon. Filemon revealed that I did not grant IUSR_hostname permission to C:\rrd directory. As soon as I added the read and execute permision to the C:\rrd then the graph works. This user group rocks. Thanks.
