problem upgrading cacti

Post by utaksa »

Hi,
we make a new installation of cacti-0.8.6j on a debian 4.0 (kernel 2.6.18-4-686) this is running on a virtual machine.
we reuse our old database from an old version of cacti we configured cacti and it run without any problem.
we add the next line in crontab:
*/5 * * * * cactiuser php /var/www/html/cacti/poller.php > /dev/null 2>&1

and we think that there is the problem, when cacti works for 1 hour, we type
ps -e | grep snmp
and it gives a lot of process called snmpbulkwalk.
when cacti works more time the number of process increases and mysql-server also says that there are many active connections.
if anybody knows where can be the problem we been thankful.
sorry for my english.
greetings from Barcelona.
