SOLVED - LDAP authentication with CactiEZ

Post by khooker »

Hello,

I use CactiEZ and would like to know what I need to do to use the LDAP authentication method in Cacti (0.8.6j)?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Did you set up LDAP and it failed? In this case, you may want to install php-ldap

That reminds me... Need to make sure LDAP is enabled in PHP before allowing LDAP as an option... :)

I checked in running PHP -m and it does not seem that ldap is activated for PHP.

[root@CactiEZ ~]# php -m
[PHP Modules]
bcmath
bz2
calendar
ctype
curl
dba
dbx
dio
eAccelerator
exif
ftp
gd
gettext
gmp
iconv
mime_magic
mysql
openssl
overload
pcntl
pcre
posix
pspell
session
shmop
snmp
sockets
standard
sysvsem
sysvshm
tokenizer
wddx
xml
yp
zlib

[Zend Modules]
eAccelerator

How do I enable it, is there something I have to install?

Indeed... very simple.

I installed the PHP-LDAP package using YUM, restarted the server and everything is running OK!!

I am waiting for 0.9 to have a more granular LDAP filtering for user permission. :)

Thanks Gandalf for your prompt help.

Well, going to let the cat out of the bag here... 0.8.7 will include this and we will be Beta'ing it soon.
