[phpbb] "notify me when a reply is posted" produce

Post by Antoine Musso »

Hello,

I posted a new topic on this forum and checked "Notify me when a reply is posted". Your forum gave me back an SQL error:

SQL Error : 1064 You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ' forum_topics = forum_topics + 1 WHERE forum_id = 21' at line 2

UPDATE forums SET forum_posts = forum_posts + 1, forum_last_post_id = , forum_topics = forum_topics + 1 WHERE forum_id = 21

File : functions_post.php

I get this sometimes too, but I just go back, and hit submit again. I must make sure I don't accidently post something twice though.

I've had this, and I thought it was to do with particular characters in the reply. My memory is that it does actually post the message, and then fails setting up the notify thingy?

The more annoying one for me is that 'DEBUG MODE' error if you spend more than 'x' minutes writing a reply. I think x is something like 10. Is there some sort of reply authentication going on that times out?
Weathermap 0.98a is out! & QuickTree 1.0. Superlinks is over there now (and built-in to Cacti 1.x).
Some Other Cacti tweaks, including strip-graphs, icons and snmp/netflow stuff.
(Let me know if you have UK DevOps or Network Ops opportunities, too!)

Actually the problem I mentioned earlier is more like Howie's.....
I agree Howie! Sometimes I check on the baby and when I come back and finish a reply, I get that message, I just copy and past into a new reply, then it works....

Um....

Ok, I will have to test, maybe there is a session timeout that is set to low...

There's an easy fix for that. You need to type faster.

Ok, from now on, I'll be sure to only post problems that can be resolved with a Yes or a No.

Yes, this happens sometimes. Clicking the back and forth arrow of my browser resolves this momentarily

Not for me. I need to go back twice, to the original post, hit 'quote' again, and paste in the reply that I remembered to save because it took a while to type.

I find typing the message in notepad before posting is a very useful idea. Have had to many browser sessions crash on me in the past causing me to lose what I had wrote.

Just my 2 pennies worth!

Maybe there is a session timeout that is set to low so that should it be...
