mail script?

Post by hetz »

Hi,

I have a Cacti installation which monitor some servers, and everything is closed by a firewall (so it cannot be watched from outside).

Recently I got a request to write a script which creates a daily mail with some of the graphs in the mail (HTML mail).

So, I was wondering about 2 things:

1. Is there any way/plugin to produce such an automatic mail? I'm sure I'm not the first person who needs this :D
2. If there isn't any plugin, how can I create an HTML page with the graphs, without the requirement that the user will connect to the VPN to get the graphs? I know I can attach the graphs to the mail, but it still won't show nicely inside an HTML page (unless I'm wrong.. I haven't created an HTML page for quite few years...)

Thanks,
Hetz

There's one of the "report" plugins that will produce mails sent to any valid mail address. You may set up those mails to include PNG files of those graphs you'd like to see.
