LAN interfaces do not update, but everything else seems fine

Post by Centauris »

Hi Folks,

I'm running into a bit of a challenge with my Cacti installation and I'm hoping someone on this forum can point me in the right direction.

In a nutshell, when I add and create graphs for a new host, the CPU usage, load average and other parameters will graph/update fine, but the graphs for the network interfaces do not.

The curious part is - I have hosts that were added some time back that do have network interface graphs that work properly and update as they should.

The challenge seems limited to just new hosts, and only to the interface graphs.

Here are my Cacti vitals:

Cacti: 0.8.6j
OS: RHEL3 update 4
RRDtool: 1.2.9
MySQL: 3.23.58

A few months back I completed an upgrade from 0.8.6h to 0.8.6j, which is when this behavior might have started. I cannot say for sure, because this is the first time I have added a new host in a while. The last time might or might not have been before the upgrade.

The hosts I am monitoring are generic Linux and Solaris Net/SNMP hosts using the ucd/net-snmp host template.

Any suggestions or ideas on how I can start to troubleshoot this one?

Thanks in advance.

- Brett.

Please make sure cacti is fully patched. There is a fix that matches your error description
