Monitoring Windows 2003 from a Linux Cacti Installation
How do I go about monitoring disk usage, CPU utilization, etc on a Windows 2k3 Server from a Cacti Linux install?
I used the "Windows2000/XP" host-template and it all worked out of the box.
Of course first you need to make sure SNMP is installed on the server.

Yes, and it lists the following (LG03 being the windows server)streaker69 wrote:Did you click "Create Graphs for Host" and select what items you wanted it to graph?jriggin wrote:SNMP is installed...it pulls the location & contact info for SNMP on the Windows server so it must be working to some extent. I chose V2 in Cacti.

From my FAQ:
Q: Why doesn't Windows return Disk or CPU usage via SNMP?
A: Open up the SNMP Service and click on the Agent tab. Make sure all the service checkboxes are marked (they are not by default). Restart the SNMP service.

Well I got it up and running by installing SNMP Informant and creating a new data source according to some how-to article I read. it seems to be running fine. One other issue is that the localhost (CentOS5) reports 2M max for the memory usage on the server. The server has 2 gigs of ram with a 2gig swap file. Why would it report it as megabytes instead of gb?jriggin wrote:All of them are checkedBSOD2600 wrote:From my FAQ:
