Not getting SNMP data into Cacti

Post by bboardma »

I can manually GET and WALK the localhost as well as other SNMP instances, but I'm not getting any SNMP data into Cacti. Any suggestions for debugging this problem.

1) does cacti consider the device up?
2) do you see snmp system info in the top left corner, inside the device in question?
3) click on verbose query in the device for some things -- do you get data back?

The device is up.
No SNMP device data is displayed within the device page of anywhere as far as I can tell.
I haven't found the verbose query option within Cacti.

Version = .0.8.6j
Patches:
snmpwalk_fix.patch
thumbnail_graphs_not_working.patch
graph_debug_lockup_fix.patch
tree_console_missing_hosts.patch
ping_php_version4_snmpgetnext.patch

I add the localhost (cacti server), see it's status as up. Can SNMPWALK it, SNMPGET OIDs, but no SNMPdata.

When it is added the GUI goes to a blank window with the URL of http://cacti.syr.edu/cacti/host.php. This behavior is consistent with network switches and routers.

I've got a feeling that I've got something very basic wrong, but I'm out of ideas on how to debug it.
