snmp missing modules?

Post by mykul31217 »

we have a cacti install up and running, it works great. However, there are times that it will record a "blank" as though it wasn't able to get info. Doing some testing, I have found that there is a consistant error that is being generated and I am unsure if this is affecting cacti or if it is affecting snmp in general.

snmpwalk -v1 -c XXXXX somerandom.host.com
Did not find 'InetPortNumber' in module INET-ADDRESS-MIB (/usr/share/snmp/mibs/TCP-MIB.txt)
Did not find 'InetAddressPrefixLength' in module INET-ADDRESS-MIB (/usr/share/snmp/mibs/IP-FORWARD-MIB.txt)
Did not find 'InetAutonomousSystemNumber' in module INET-ADDRESS-MIB (/usr/share/snmp/mibs/IP-FORWARD-MIB.txt)

Hmm, seems to be popular to view, but no responses. Does anyone have any ideas, or can they point me in the right direction? Maybe another forum or thread I can look through?

The error you have reported shos a buggy MIB file. But as cacti does not rely on MIBs, it will not affect cacti itself. Please try second link of my signature for basic debugging aid
