[HOWTO] Monitoring Remote Hosts With Cacti and SSH

Post by mvip »

Just want to let you guys know that I wrote a guide on how to use Cacti to remotely monitor hosts. The guide uses SSH tunnels to tunnel the data from Net-SNMP to the local Cacti host.

The guide is available at:
http://www.playingwithwire.com/2007/06/ ... ith-cacti/

Hope this guide will come handy for more people than me.

Thanks Linegod.

Putting this solution together took me some time, so I hope it will save other peoples some time.

It's exactly how we are monitoring remote networks, so it's obviously a good idea :)

Neet little article. SSH Tunnels rule. Try doing that in Windoz.
