Version 0.8.2 error -There are no items in your poller cache

Post by geekboy »

Hi all,

I am a long time user of version 0.6.8a, however I have just installed 0.8.2a on a new server and having a problem with it.

The error generated by cron is:

There are no items in your poller cache. Make sure you have at least one data source created. If you do, go to 'Utilities', and select 'Clear Poller Cache'.
time: 0

Going to Utilities and using Clear Poller Cache has not made any difference, the error is still there. I have only the standard disk/system graphs running that come standard, plus also 1 snmp ethernet traffic graph.

Any ideas appreciated.

Joseph

Forgive me for asking a question that was sort of answered in your post, but are you having problems with a new installation of Cacti? It seems that a few users had problems upgrading to 0.8.2a with respect to their poller cache. I have yet to see this problem manifest with a new installation though. What operating system are you currently using?

Yes this was a brand new installation of 0.8.2a, on Redhat 9, Apache 2, PHP 4.2.2, net-snmp.

I got around this by installing the old version first, then upgrading to the new one.

Still had problems with SNMP not working correctly. Got that sorted by turning off php-snmp support in config.
