graphs with regular holes/gaps [solved]

Post by slindemann »

Hi,

I have a graph taken from an traffic generating virtuel routning instance. The vendor description of the interface as a 64-bit counter, so my data queries is based on the rrd "COUNTER".

Now I get the attached graphs.

My own suggestion is that this internal counter is only updated every 15 min, but is it correct?
Could anybody maybe give me a clue where to look for the problem.

There is no error in log files, and the cacti verion is 0.8.6j with patches, rrdtool is version 1.2.11.

Best regards,

slindemann

Please run several times in DEBUG mode to get the numbers into cact.log. Then you will see if your assumption is correct

cofirmed by the vendor

My vendor confirmed that this counters only get updated every 15 min, so that is the explaination for this graph.

I should have done my homework  but it could help other with similar problems.
