No pictures could be displayed in Graph->Tree Mode, solved

But tracing the link on either item , it will display 4 new graphs. Each of them showing a different timespan, from Daily to Yearly .
It still works. Quite amazing . At the same time "Zoom function" will bring a blank picture too.
What's the problem ?

The problem has been solved .
The default value of the rrd version is rrdtool1.0.x in the "Console->cacti settings "
I have changed it to 1.2.x which is the true value of my environment .

Please check font file name settings (Settings -> Paths). They must show a font file name, not a font directory name

redrobish ,
I have met the same situation when i added my switch as a new device.
At the same time , I found the status of the switch is down in the "Console -> Devices" , though the switch supports the snmp well .
I changed the value in Console->Settings->Poller->"Downed Host Detection " to "Ping and SNMP - Most Recomnded"(the default value is SNMP") , then the status of the device is "up" . The pictures of the switch comes out .

Empty should be fine, so the default font is used. I'm running
/usr/share/fonts/bitstream-vera/Vera.ttf
, but make sure that this file exists before using it
