SNMP Error in Device Settings

Post by Tybio »

Greetings,

I am running the current release of Cacti, just installed fresh to a new DB. When I add any SNMP device (Juniper Router, Foundry Switch, Cisco Load Balancer) the Section of the "Device" setting that normally has the admin info about it shows "SNMP Error".

All data sources are fine and graphing is moving very well...so it is not an SNMP problem..per say.

Any ideas?

try to configure right the snmp to the other devices you use. Propably this error excists because cacti did not receive any snmp answer from the device(switch ,router, pc, etc)

I don't follow, if SNMP was not functioning, then how would I be getting an interface list and data for the graphs every polling cycle?

Anyone have any ideas? I need to get Mactrack working, and without the device information I don't think that's possible :(
