BUG: SNMP Passphrase displayed in cleartext

Post by floyd_n_milan »

Hi,

I apologise if this is the wrong forum to post this in.

Under Console > Devices > (Edit), the SNMP Password (v3) field displayes the password. Shouldn't it be a `password' field rather than a normal text field?

Thank you.

No, I don't think it should. The SNMP Community is not and it would be stored in the database as clear text. I see no need to obscure that field.

It's the password field, not the community field. The password field for the v3 should be obscured. It's obscured in the default settings page. And there's also a verification field on the main settings page, which is missing here.

Well, that is a nice inconsistency....

If you haven't already, do put a bug in.
