Fatal Error : While creating mass graphs for Cisco 4500's
Morning ,
Thanks for a great forum.
I have managed to install Cacti on a windows Server, all is good.
Except for when I try to create graphs for a Cisco switch that has a number of interfaces , it always bombs out with the following error :
"Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\cacti\graphs_new.php on line 687"
I am able create the device o.k (Cisco 4500 150+ interfaces) and the verbose walk works o.k, but when I try to create graphs for that device , the webpage goes blank for 10 mins then bombs out.
Any help would be great , as it's driving me nuts
Thanks

Try to increase the memory and timeout in php.ini.

Does it still timeout?

Yep
its still failing
Takes 10-15 mins to fail with the above message , the line number in the error does tend to change, also it sometimes shows 50% of the interfaces , sometimes it may even get to 90% of the interfaces before it fails. Not much use though as the add button is on the bottom of the page which never gets displayed.
If I keep trying the "create graphs for this host" link , it eventually works ..it may take 10-15 attempts though.

Increase the timeouts further. Other normal devices with fewer interfaces works fine, right?

I have changed the settings to this :
max_execution_time = 300 ; Maximum execution time of each script, in seconds
max_input_time = 200 ; Maximum amount of time each script may spend parsing request data
memory_limit = 50M ; Maximum amount of memory a script may consume (8MB)
It looks to be o.k for now , I will keep an eye on it
Thanks for your help.
