Link Data

Post by Dacob9906 »

I have recently installed weathermap. When I first installed, I was running the default 5 min poller, no 1 minute patch, and built my first map. The links between the nodes seemed to be working great, the data for up and down were different at first. Say 150k up to switch 1, and 33k being send from switch 1 for example.

I then decided I wanted to use the 1 minute poller... not sure if this has anything to do with why it is doing this or not, but I thought I would mention it. After i installed the "patch" and created the 1 minute polling time and recreated the graphs, the weathermap stopped working... I expected that. I changed where the data for the links was coming from... chose the switch link through the web editor, and now the links are showing data again. The problem is that both the up and down data loads are the same for everylink.

Here is a pic to better explain:

Any help appreciated... Thanks!! :)

You notice how the data going to the switch, is the same as coming from the switch, no matter which link it is... they are all the same??

Could you post the config for one of the links, please? Can't think of a reason for that, apart from funny target lines... Either that or the rrd really does have the same data from traffic_in and traffic_out.

Maybe a DEBUG log would be useful too - look for the "ReadData RRD" lines.
Weathermap 0.98a is out! & QuickTree 1.0. Superlinks is over there now (and built-in to Cacti 1.x).
Some Other Cacti tweaks, including strip-graphs, icons and snmp/netflow stuff.
(Let me know if you have UK DevOps or Network Ops opportunities, too!)

Since I posted this I just decided to go back to polling every 5 mins, doing it every minute doesn't really gain me anything. When I went back to the 5 minute polling time, and fixed the weathermap, the data went back to being correct. I think it might havt o do with how the rra is created for the 1 minute "patch". Anyways, thanks for the reply, and If I hadn't changed it already I would post that info... sorry. :(
