Is there a way to disable the recovery and/or the re-alerting emails?

Not really, the recovery emails are just as important as the first failure emails. If you don't want the reoccurring emails, just set it to 99999.

In thold v3.3, you can set it to 0 to have it not re-alert every so often. The recovery emails will still be sent.
