Custom Script, Data Sources Error

Post by XaNO »

Hi

I've a Problem with Cacti, my environment:

Windows Server 2003 R2
IIS
My SQL 5.0.22
Cacti 0.8.6j for Windows

During the Installation a had a Problem with the SQL Script, it returns, that i cant creat a TEXT-Field with NOT NULL or something. I changed this field to a VARCHAR(255) and it works (i dont know witch table it pertains). For testing i added any SNMP Cisco Switchs, this works very great.
Now i like to add a custom VBS-Script, but when i go to Data Sources and add a DataSource with this Input Method, an error occurs: Error: Save Failed
On the bottom of the page i can see "Data Sources Debug", but theres no data.
After i Saved this corrupt DataSource, i can See this DataSource in the DataSources list without a Name.

For testing, i followd this Tutorial, but the same error occurs.
In the Log i see this errors:
02/23/2007 10:54:37 AM - CMDPHP: Poller[0] ERROR: There are no RRA's assigned to local_data_id: 37.
I also monitored my Server with Filemon to find any Permission Erros, but i cant find it.

I hope, you can help me!

Greets XaNO

PS: Sorry for bad English, if you have a question, just ask.

Edit: There's also an other error in the Log:
CMDPHP: Poller[0] ERROR: SQL Cell Failed "select output_string from data_input where id=17"

The field output_string in the data_inpute table does realy not exist!!

After uncounted houers of trouble, i can announce: It works!

The resolution was a MySQL Downgrad to Version 4.0.20d.

Im indescribably happy :)

I wish the developers can add an information in the Manual for this terrible case.

In the future, I suggest you read my installation guide http://forums.cacti.net/viewtopic.php?t=11747 and http://docs.cacti.net/

I saw this thread, but it does not help for my Problem.

The Manual says, that mysql 5.0.22 shold works. But in my configuration it works only with a older mysql version.
