custom graph(conntrack) [fixed]

Post by clever »

ive added a extension to my net-snmp server so i can view the number of records in conntrack
and i can view it using snmpwalk

snmpwalk -v2c -c public 192.168.y.x nsExtendOutput1Line
NET-SNMP-EXTEND-MIB::nsExtendOutput1Line."conntrack" = STRING: 6

but how would i graph that in cacti?

ive made the data and graph templatesa and have the proper oid in there and now im getting nan errors in the rra file

wait i had .110 in my oid when it should have had a .110.110 :P
now to wait a while to see how stable it is:)
i have a single value in the rra file now which isnt 0 and isnt nan so it might be fixed
odd thing is that its followed by a nan like i *might* have unfixed it:P

wait wait:P another 5mins have gone by
now instead of nan 9 nan its nan 9 7 nan
appears to be inserting
and on a closer look the nan is a short distance into the future
9 is at xxx3500 7 at xxx3800 and the nan at xxx4100 for some reason
but that means the nan wasnt a unfixing error but an old item which is in the future a bit

clever, you've done a great job. Could you please share your results with others? Including net-snmp settings.
