Squid malfunction on 0.8.6

Post by floyd »

hi everyone
I have a problem with my SquidStats-0.1 templates on cacti 0.8.6h-3. The thing is that if i do
snmpwalk -c public -v1 host:161 .1.3.6.1.4.1.3495 all the information appears to be right and all the variables are shown, however, when i run the template in cacti, only a couple of mibs are returned. what could cause this??
thanks in advance
Evelio.

Please be more specific. If values are not shown on the graph, you may want to check my "NaN Debugging HowTo", linked in my signature, to get more infos

Hi Reinhard:

The things is that there is no data returned at all. when i run "verbose query" on the following
WebCache - Squid Statistics - Core Success [1 Item, 1 Row]
WebCache - Squid Statistics - Median Based Success [3 Items, 3 Rows]

i get something like this:

+ Running data query [10].
+ Found type = '3' [snmp query].
+ Found data query XML file at '/usr/share/cacti/site/resource/snmp_queries/webcache_squid_core.xml'
+ XML file parsed ok.
+ Executing SNMP walk for list of indexes @ '.1.3.6.1.4.1.3495.1.3.2.1.11'
+ Located input field 'versionID' [get]
+ Executing SNMP get for data @ '.1.3.6.1.4.1.3495.1.2.3.0' [value='2.6.STABLE1']
+ Found data query XML file at '/usr/share/cacti/site/resource/snmp_queries/webcache_squid_core.xml'

+ Found data query XML file at '/usr/share/cacti/site/resource/snmp_queries/webcache_squid_core.xml'

and also i get with the other:

Running data query [11].
+ Found type = '3' [snmp query].
+ Found data query XML file at '/usr/share/cacti/site/resource/snmp_queries/webcache_squid_median.xml'
+ XML file parsed ok.

+ Found item [medianTime='1'] index: 1 [from value]
+ Found item [medianTime='5'] index: 5 [from value]
+ Found item [medianTime='60'] index: 60 [from value]
+ Found data query XML file at '/usr/share/cacti/site/resource/snmp_queries/webcache_squid_median.xml'

I've checked out the logs but nothing seems to go wrong.
Thanks

I think this is only for monitoring the host? Not for generating the graphs? I read somewhere else that you must use 3401 for graphs.
I've tried both, and get the same problem, i can snmpwalk without any problem, the 'Associated Data Queries" is correct (1-1, 3-3)...

When i use 3401, the image won't be generated, i even don't see anything comming in the cacti.log...
When i use 161, the image are generated, but i recieve a time-out in the cacti.log. No data is been inserted in the graphs...

I'm using cacti 0.8.6h and squid 2.5.stable3...
