Cacti architecture

Post by cseguino »

Hi,

I'm a beginner with Cacti and there is something I don't understand about the architecture of Cacti.

For the information retreived using SNMP trap, I understand. But, how are the defaut scripts executed on the remote host ???

The script loadavg_multi.pl need to be excecuted on the remote host to excecute the uptime command. But I never specify a login/passwd on which this script should be excecuted.

Please, explain me, because this means I don't understand something HUGE.

Thanks a lot.

Hi

this script is meant to be used on a local Linux server. If you want to graph remote servers, install an SNMP agent on them (see the HowTo in my signature).
