PostgreSQL template for Cacti?
After doing some searching here and elsewhere online, I haven't been able to find any templates for monitoring statistics generated from postgreSQL. Before going an writing my own, I just wanted to ask if anyone else has or has found any templates for monitoring a postgreSQL server?
I would have assumed someone had written some by now, but perhaps not.

For those wondering, I'm still here, but lost in the shadows. Yearning for less bugs. Who want's a Cacti 1.3/2.0? Streams anyone?

I've looked through google, through forums.cacti.net, through google searching forums.cacti.net, and have not found any templates for cacti to monitor a postgreSQL server. Is there something in the link you provided that has something related to this? In your link, the only results that come up are other requests for postgreSQL templates and requests for postgreSQL to be implemented as a backend to cacti (which is not what I'm looking for).
I just wanted to post to make sure no one had created any templates recently that I hadn't seen yet before I make the time investment to write them myself.

Hmm, since I don't run it, I am not entirely qualified to speak to it. Once thing for sure is that I'm shocked no one has written one.
So the question becomes, how do you get status from postG? What are the commands and what format do they return as?

To build the templates, you wiould first need to post the MIB's for this. If you can find them, post them. If you have the energy, I will assist you in developing the templates.
You need to identify "what" is important, and then I will instruct you as to what to do.

Right now pgsnmpd only supports RDBMS-MIB (defined in RFC 1697 and attached to this message). That MIB has some useful information, but not a lot, to be honest. Future versions of pgsnmpd should include a new PGSQL-MIB which will have loads of useful stuff, though exactly *what* useful stuff remains to be defined. Suggestions are welcome on pgsnmpd-devel AT pgfoundry DOT org.
