SNMP Traps -> Syslog -> Cacti, help needed!

Post by martin_d »

I need some help how to configure my system to receive SNMP traps and to show them in the Cacti syslog plugin.

Can anyone tell me how to do this?

You have to write a PHP based (or any other language) trap receiver and then dorward the information to the Syslog database. It's quite easy to do. If you look at the "boost" plugin boost server, you might be able to do it yourself.

For those wondering, I'm still here, but lost in the shadows. Yearning for less bugs. Who want's a Cacti 1.3/2.0? Streams anyone?
