Mysql ifIndex and Graph Data

Post by cbannister »

One of the nice things about having mysql as the backend to cacti is that we could reuse this data for other things.
I would like to be able to pull the input/output data from the daily, weekly, monthly and yearly intervals based on hostname and ifIndex.

I haven't uncovered any decent documentation for the cacti mysql database.

I would like to pull this data by only using the hostname and a ifIndex value. These values are not taken from cacti but rather another database. I just want to extract the usage data to create some reports.

Could someone help me form the query to achieve this?

Thanks.

You still need to get the data from a data_source using the rrdtool fetch command. Best start with knowing that the "Data Source" points to your data, and typically the ifIndex is the index "primary key" for the Data Source.

Now all that's left is knowing "how" to get data from rrdtool and a few hundred lines of code. Good luck.

For those wondering, I'm still here, but lost in the shadows. Yearning for less bugs. Who want's a Cacti 1.3/2.0? Streams anyone?
