yum updates

Post by ed.whitesell »

With the recent security updates to 0.8.6.h & i, on a dev system I ran a yum update to get the latest "j" version from the dag yum repo. It installed, but Cacti still reports 0.8.6i in the about page. I know this is tied to the $config["cacti_version"] line in the config.php

My question is this. Does this line mean anything? Does anyone know if Cacti is actually updated at this point, and maybe this is just cosmetic? Or would it be a question for the package builder?

Multiple files, like poller.php, are showing updated dates, new sizes etc. So I *think* it's updated...

Thanks

It's always a mess with those distros. I would prefer using the tar.gz from cacti's main site. Or the rpm, if you prefer.

If you are curious, you could download the tarball off cacti.net and diff all the files ;)
