Hi

I am looking for any plugin that can send mail when for example my cisco router goes down meaning do no respond to an simple ping i guess or should i check on bandwidth usage and put an limit that is 0 ???

or what happens when the router goes down values will be "Nan" or the value will go down to "0"

Did you already check Thold and Monitor Plugins? Or Manage?

I'm not sure that this is something that you should be looking to cacti to do. There are other packages that are designed to do alerting 9such as Nagios) and will probably work out better in the long run, rather than taking a data recording tool like Cacti and attempting to force it into doing alerting as well. .

Just my 2 cents.
