Hello everybody,
I have a Problem with scripts used with "exec" in snmpd.conf. My Graphs are not correct so i started searching the problem and i found something strange.
Hope you can help.
SNMP version is 5.2.2 or 5.3
If i do a :
# snmpget -v1 -c public Host .1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.72.101.1
I get this response:
UCD-SNMP-MIB::ucdavis.72.101.1 = STRING: "1"
This seems to be ok so far and if i increment the value 1 till 10 i get on every snmpget the correct value.
If i make a snmpdelta -v1 -c public Host .1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.72.101.1
i got changing the Value from 1 to 2
UCD-SNMP-MIB::ucdavis.72.101.1 /1 sec: 1
Value 2 to 3
UCD-SNMP-MIB::ucdavis.72.101.1 /1 sec: 1
Value 3 to 4
UCD-SNMP-MIB::ucdavis.72.101.1 /1 sec: 1
Value 4 to 5
UCD-SNMP-MIB::ucdavis.72.101.1 /1 sec: 1
Value 5 to 6
UCD-SNMP-MIB::ucdavis.72.101.1 /1 sec: 1
Value 6 to 7
UCD-SNMP-MIB::ucdavis.72.101.1 /1 sec: 1
Value 7 to 8
UCD-SNMP-MIB::ucdavis.72.101.1 /1 sec: 1
Value 8 to 9
UCD-SNMP-MIB::ucdavis.72.101.1 /1 sec: 1
Value 9 to 10
UCD-SNMP-MIB::ucdavis.72.101.1 /1 sec: 4294967288
Does anybody know why there is this problem from 9 to 10 ???
And shouldn't be the response a Integer and not a String ?
Thanks.
Best regards
Peter
P.s. Sorry but i didn't found anything in this forum about that or i didn't understand ?
SNMP Output Format is String not Integer ?
