Hi,
I searched a lot the web for informations regarding cacti monitoring and windows servers.
I want to set-up a cacti linux based installation for monitoring the MS Exchange server and MS SQL Server services.
I read this msg but I don't understand if there is a way of making those scripts working via linux box.
http://forums.cacti.net/about12383.html
Anyway I don't understand if I can monitor the Exchange/SQL server with SNMP or I have to use WMI. And if I have to use WMI can I use it remotely from a linux box ? Using perl ?
Can anybody pointing to me any resources to study for solving my clue ?
Thank you

If you want to monitor exchange from Linux then you're going to have to either install a third-party SNMP addon which exposes the data (snmp informant) or a third-party client like nsclient for WMI. There are scripts on the cacti forum for both of these.
| Scripts: Monitor processes | RFC1213 MIB | DOCSIS Stats | Dell PowerEdge | Speedfan | APC UPS | DOCSIS CMTS | 3ware | Motorola Canopy |
| Guides: Windows Install | [HOWTO] Debug Windows NTFS permission problems |
