Error running cacti.sql

Post by cptweasel »

I get this error when running the cacti.sql;

ERROR 1101 (42000) at line 1890: BLOB/TEXT column 'oid' can't have a default value

cacti.sql is from cacti-0.8.6i
mySQL 5.0.27
php 5.2.0
running on XP sp2

I took a stab manually editing the (oid TEXT NOT NULL default '',) entry but to no success. Any input is appreciated!

Thanks

Just found this thread;
http://forums.cacti.net/viewtopic.php?t=14946

Question would troubleshooting this error be moot if I were to uninstall the current components and run the all in one installer?

Thanks again,

Yes.

Alternatively, if you read the install guide: http://forums.cacti.net/viewtopic.php?t=11747 you'd know that you need to turn off mysql strict mode, which is the cause of the error.

Sweet appreciate the assistance!

For the record I did read over that thread before posting but figured the Installing Under Windows link would be the same information contained at this link (found under documentation on the main www.cacti.net page)
www.cacti.net/downloads/docs/html/install_windows.html
I went back to the documentation page and could not find any reference to a mySQL strict mode. Also I did not get any hits when running a keyword search on the discussion list. Being a bit of a mySQL n00b I had no clue as to what would cause the error.

Thanks again

The reason I reference you/others to that readme sticky, is because it includes MY windows installation guide plus FAQ. The cacti documentation is old and lacking in some areas.

Ahhhh no worries its great to see that some one is keeping up the doc files. BTW kick a$$ job on the all in one installer, worked like a charm!!

Thanks again,
