is it possible to add icons and even background images onto weathermap i am trying to make it look a little easier to view instead of just a thousend nodes

how do i upload icons (switch) or even worldmap on the weathermap background

The same way you upload any other files to your webserver - FTP/SCP/SFTP. Then you can use the ICON and BACKGROUND keywords in a weathermap config to use them. They must be PNG files (0.9 has support for GIF and JPEG too, but not 0.82).
