Script based network traffic?

Post by CarShaker »

Hi All,

i`ve searched very long... but I didn`t found it!

Is there a script/template to determine the network traffic of a different host? I don`t have snmp on the host - so it must run with a script that creates csv-Files.

Do you have any idea?
Thanks in advise,
Car

that all depends on many variables.
what OS the host to be monitored is, what access you have on the host, etc

for example: if the host uses iptables and you have root access, it can be scripted.

another possibilty is to monitor the switch port that the host is attached to and graph that traffic
