Trouble collecting all Cisco switch interfaces

I am successfully using "snmp interfaces" to gather interfaces and make graphs on several Cisco routers but when I try to discover the interfaces on any Cisco switch, the browser window eventually times out. When I go back to the device many of the interfaces are listed but not the complete list. Any ideas on why cacti does not discover all of the interfaces? I just tried an snmpwalk against the same switch and it finds everything.
