Incorrect values on graph

Post by probonic »

I created a graph which plots the bandwidth for one of my interfaces. I know for a fact (I have looked in the RRD log file) that the correct values are going in. However, cacti (or RRDTool) seem to think that 61000 is the same as 200 :-?

The maximum value that is going to the graph is about 61000 (i.e. about 60 kb/s), however, to the left of the graph the Y-axis goes up to 200! (That is, just 200, not 200k or anything). Does anyone have any ideas as to why this is? I have played with all the boundaries options but to no avail.

Please help!

Well... it looks like 60000 / 300 sec (5 min) = 200. What exactly are you polling? What value do you deliver to rrdtool: traffic counter value or speed (in bits/sec). If traffic counter then your DS type should be set to GAUGE. If speed then set it to GAUGE (otherwise it will be divided by 300).
