Newbie, collect/graph a single value from SNMP

Post by rklingsten »

Hi folks, I apologize for this simple request; I'm afraid I must be getting dense in my old age, I simply don't understand the various methods for collecting and graphing custom values. I've searched for posts with examples, read the documentation and I just don't get it. Perhaps someone can help me out, give some examples, etc...

I want to collect:
snmpget -v 1 -c X 10.160.4.100 .1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.273.1.1.2.1.1.1

which returns:

SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.9.9.273.1.1.2.1.1.1 = Gauge32: 7

This is a Cisco 1200 AP running IOS and the gauge is the current number of associated users. I found a template to do this, but it doesn't work on IOS (only VXWorks) and I tried fiddling with the parts of the template, setting the right oid and whatnot but it just doesn't work.

Thanks for any help!
