403 Forbidden error was encountered

Post by Braynid »

Ok i have ubuntu rc 0.06, apache 2, php5 and i want to use cacti. I've followed the instructions to install cacti, in the end i get:

Code: Select all

Forbidden

You don't have permission to access /cacti on this server.

Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
Apache/2.0.55 (Ubuntu) PHP/5.1.2 mod_ssl/2.0.55 OpenSSL/0.9.8a Server at xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx Port 80
What can i do about it ?

Thanks!

make sure that your cacti directory under your webroot has appropriate permissions and correct ownerships. You probably created it as root and is owned by root:wheel with permissions like 600 or something
