Automatic graph creation

Post by paugros »

Hello,
I was wondering if there is a way to have cacti automatically create corresponding graphs for new subinterfaces discovered by poller_reindex_hosts.php.

I need to use rrd for scalability and I like cacti a lot, but so far I can't quite emulate MRTG's automation where simply adding a new subinterface on a router will cause new graphs to become available (like cfgmaker/indexmaker do). Manually creating graphs for every new interface is not practical for us.

I suppose I could write my own script to do this, but I'm hoping there's a solution out there that I've missed.

I'm using version 0.8.6h of cacti.

Thanks,
Paul

There isn't a solution that I know of.

But I have been getting questions from people concerning just what you are asking.

I am actually writing a plugin for this already, so don't sweat it. Just waiting approval from the end client who is "sponsering" it.

Excellent, thank you. I'd be glad to be able to use cacti after all.

We could use this too

Hey, great, we could use this too. We could probably drop JFFNMS as our additional snmp monitoring with this feature.
