OpenVZ Graphs

Post by ataraxis »

Hi,
I'm new to Cacti and i want to display some info about virtual servers I have running on a OpenVZ host.
There exists a file user_beancounters where I can get the current and max value for a few values for each virtual machine.
I have written a script that takes the number of the virtual machine and the requested value as a parameter and returns the current and the max value.

i have setup a data template for the current and the max value and a graph template for the graph showing the current and the max value.

Now I thought it would be nice if I could add a graph based on that graph template and I just need to enter the number of the virtual machine.

But it seems I have create data sources from the template for each value typing in the number of the virtual machine. Then I could add the graph.

Where am I doing something wrong?

Thanks for your help,

Kai

You may want to check Script Data Queries for that. They will kind of "scan" all available indices (very much like if Index) and get various data for those indices. See http://www.cacti.net/downloads/docs/htm ... y_xml.html
