Okay, so I have cacti running on another host, and it works very well. I have turned on a few people to it, and they all have it running great....with the database on the same host as the web server...

Now, I am trying to run it on a host w/ the database on another host. I can log in, add, delete, change anything I want from the web interface, but for some reason, it insists on trying to access a local database somewhere in cmd.php. I have not been able to track it down. *sigh*

Anyone else got it running with cacti and the webserver on one host w/ the database on another host?

Thanks!

I do not see why this would be happening since 'cmd.php' uses the same database wrapper as the frontend.

Something to try would be replacing '$database_hostname' in 'include/database.php' with the approprite database hostname.

See if that works.

Just tried that, and no joy.

I know it is accessing it, because I can go through the web interface and make changes, then log in to the database, and see the changes.
