After upgrade to 0.8.6h, graphs are missing data sources

Post by jjhuff »

A while back I upgraded to 0.8.6h and (after fixing a LDAP issue) it works great.

However, I found that the list of data sources for each graph is empty (the drop down only has one entry, 'None'). This is the case for every graph. Un-touched graphs continue to work (poller is working, graphs update, etc). As soon as I hit the save button on a graph, it stops working because it now lacks data sources.

Ideas??

thanks!

I consider this to be a bug...

But what is happening, is because you have NONE selected on the filter, the currently selected data source does not appear in the list, NONE being the default, that is what is selected as the data source. When you click save, you save the data source as NONE, breaking the graph.

I will work on resolving this for 0.8.6i.

The Graph editor has a filter at the top that filters the datasources box for you. Attached is an image of it.

Make sure it is not set to NONE, otherwise, what you describe will happen when you hit save.

For the life of me, I can't find that...

grep -R "Data Source Filter" * doesn't find anything either.

select * from version;
returns 0.8.6h

Am I just totally missing something?
thanks!

When you are editing the Graph, from the web interface. And you go to edit a graph item, at the top, you will see NONE selected. Simular to the screenshot I posted. Make sure that says ANY and that you select the correct Data Source for the graph item.

Ok, I finally see it now....
It's only there when the graph has 'Selected Graph Template' as 'None'. I couldn't find a similar section under Graph Templates. Maybe my templates are horked?

Um....

This should only show up when editing non-templated graphs. I will have to do more testing.
