Please go on and read ->

Measuring Bandwidth (throughput) with rrdTool/Cacti
(Using SNMP data from a given host)

Requirements:
*******************
A host running some sort of SNMP deamon. It's IP Address and it's community string.

Steps:
********
First. We have to gather the data from the SNMP host. For this matter we do the following steps:
1. Console -> Data Gathering -> SNMP Interfaces.
2. Next to Current SNMP Hosts choose Add.
3. SNMP Host Configuration:
3.1 Hostname: enter the IP address.
3.2 Community: enter the community string for this host.
3.3 Click on save.

Second. We are now ready to make the bandwidth usage graph. For this matter we do the following steps:
1. Choose "View Gathered Interfaces" from the Host recently added under the Current SNMP hosts table.
2. Choose "Make Graph" for the desired interface you want to monitor it's bandwidth (throughput).
3. Under "Create Graph from SNMP Data Interface" do this:
3.1 Graph Title: leave it as it is or add more detail about the location, interface but remember to leave one of those useful <valiables>
3.2 Data source: leave it as it is.
3.3 Click on save.

Third. Enjoy your graphic.
