strange cacti problem [ SOLVED ]

Post by xtlosx »

hey guys, i've had cacti running perfectly for weeks, now all of a sudden... when i try to go to the main cacti page, it just sits there, waiting for.... waiting for... then goes to a white page.. solid white,
all other php applications on the box work, my sql connection works as i have my own scripts that utiliize it... what the heck is gonig on and or how can i figure out what is going on??
Thanks!

This is quite odd!!

bye running the poller manually, i was able to see it was a database issue, i had changed my password, and didn't update cacti, did so it works percect now!
thanks!!

What was the fix to this? I am having segmentation faults. Even if I run poller from CLI it faults out with no real description.

Thanks,

segmentation fault

Post by ptera »

Brand new install.
When I tried to access the cacti files for the first time with the browser I got
[Mon Jul 24 12:35:29 2006] [notice] child pid 1781 exit signal Segmentation fault (11)

I tried running poller.php to see if it would tell me same thing it told you but all I got was

Segmentation Fault

I am running Fedora Core 5
with all the latest updates to all packages used to run cacati
cacti-0.8.6h-6.fc5
mysql-5.0.22-1.FC5.1
php-5.1.4-1
rrdtool-1.2.15-1.fc5
httpd-2.2.2-1.0

Any help in what I could be doing wrong here?
Are there other logs I can loook at for help?

I have figured it out it has to do with PHP5. Not sure how to fix it.
