no ping (for some hosts)

Post by grumpf »

hi,
i am using cacti installed with suse10.0 (cacti-0.8.6f-2). Everything is fine but
for some odd reason i have two hosts that seems always down (of cause wrong).
I simply want a ping statistic and the system says always 'down'.
(devices menu). of cause they are up and running ,i can ping them from commandline.
my cacti.log has no usefull information.

the only thing is that SMNP is disabled (resulting in a SNMP error) but i do not care since the ping time is ok for me. (any way to disable SNMP ?)

I guess i missed some button any ideas ?

Yep; simply leave community empty for those hosts
