Need some help with making something graph

Post by DarkOrb »

Hi all,

I'm currently using quagga-snmp-bgpd to pull some stats about our BGP Sessions (Namely the number of prefixes from peers) but am not having much luck making cacti graph these.

the output from the snmpwalks look like this

Code: Select all

enterprises.99999.1.1 = 2
enterprises.99999.1.2 = 1
enterprises.99999.1.3 = 30399
enterprises.99999.1.4 = 344
enterprises.99999.1.5 = 186580
enterprises.99999.1.9.123.123.123.123.1 = IpAddress: 123.123.123.123
enterprises.99999.1.9.123.123.123.123.2 = 1
enterprises.99999.1.9.123.123.123.123.3 = 25577
enterprises.99999.1.9.123.123.123.123.4 = 186580
enterprises.99999.1.9.123.123.123.123.5 = Timeticks: (40824000) 4 days, 17:24:00.00
enterprises.99999.1.9.100.100.100.100.1 = IpAddress: 100.100.100.100
enterprises.99999.1.9.100.100.100.100.2 = 0
enterprises.99999.1.9.100.100.100.100.3 = 39326
enterprises.99999.1.9.100.100.100.100.4 = 0
enterprises.99999.1.9.100.100.100.100.5 = Timeticks: (0) 0:00:00.00
From the site:
enterprises.99999.1.1 = <number of peers>
enterprises.99999.1.2 = <number of active peers>
enterprises.99999.1.3 = <number of as path entries>
enterprises.99999.1.4 = <number of bgp community entries>
enterprises.99999.1.5 = <total number of prefixes>

enterprises.99999.1.9.a.b.c.d.1 = <ip address: same as a.b.c.d>
enterprises.99999.1.9.a.b.c.d.2 = <state: 0=down, 1=up>
enterprises.99999.1.9.a.b.c.d.3 = <asn>
enterprises.99999.1.9.a.b.c.d.4 = <prefixes>
enterprises.99999.1.9.a.b.c.d.5 = <up/down time>

But to be completely honest I now have no idea how to get that into a graph in cacti. I would be highly greatfull for any help/pointers that people could give me.

I'd like to be able to graph each peer seperately, along with the total prefixes on there (so in the case above, 3 seperate lines).

Many Thanks,

Alex

Find a small intro at the last two links of my signature. But your case is somewhat complicated and more research will be needed
